Striving to not spread gossip or unsubstantiated info

Share
Since my last post here I have been receiving a fair amount of personal e-mail related to our topic. The following excerpt is typical:

I appreciate your blog ..insightful and truly charitable dialogue about important issues around the whole Maciel fiasco. I also respect your striving to not spread gossip or unsubstantiated info. It may mean that you cannot post something everyday for people to get in a tizzy about, but still means there is something to discuss with rational and critical thinking... just wanted to give you that encouragement. I am sure you don't get it alot. I have certainly mentioned your blog to many in RC, and to  LCs ..(and those who are aware of it have been very positive about it). Keep up the good work.

Thanks so much to those who have taken the time to write.

Unfortunately - or, better yet, fortunately, - my regular consulting work has been keeping me very busy. Most of it involves international travel.

So, I thought I should check in to say that I have not forgotten this blog and its loyal readers. I hope to catch up with some new thoughts next week as the Legion struggles with the aftermath of its flawed founder.

I miss your comments on Life After RC. Although I didn't always agree with you, you certainly stirred the waters. Since purchasing your book I understand your position better.

Thanks Ohh for your comment - and for reading my book! Maybe someday you might let me know what you thought of it. (not to mention a review on Amazon!)

The greatest thing about writing that book have been the comments from so many people - including (surprise, surprise!) many current LC and RC members. One common thread is that they want to know more about how Maciel treated us and what it was like to know him... all in an effort to better discern their vocations and to separate his crimes from their own experience of God in the organizations. I'm glad that many who would not want to read "anti-LC" literature have read mine.

In my professional work, I am now using the book as a "case-study" of the effects dysfunctional and misguided leaders can have on organizations. There are lots of mini "MMs" disguised as senior corporate exectutives (I refer to absence of ethical conscience - not child molestation.) Thanks again.
